Travel Journal: Iceland Roadtrip
DAY 7
Day 7
Húsafell > Reykjavik
Today was our last full day in Iceland. Getting to Reykjavik from Húsafell Campsite is very quick, no more than 2 hours. The drive is very straightforward, especially compared to what we’ve experienced so far. After numerous mountain, fjord vistas and a long tunnel, we arrived into the city and drove straight to Kex Hostel. There the car rental representative will collect our car. Once handover done, we walk to Hlemmur Square Hostel where we spent our final night. After we checked-in and settled in, we booked our transport to Blue Lagoon with the hostel. (We have pre-booked a trip to Blue Lagoon on the day when we arrived in Reykjavik).
While waiting for our dip to the world's most famous geothermal spa, we wander around Reykjavik and did souvenir shopping. Once we were done, we still have 2 hours to kill. So we just wasting our time in this small café for munchies and hot chocolate.
Journey to Blue Lagoon was 45 minutes. When we arrived, it was pouring rain but the weather didn’t stop everyone to come. We received a wrist band upon the entry, get changed and take a quick shower. (*Tips: Make sure you put plenty of conditioner on your hair – the water will make your hair very dry). It was freezing outside and the quick dash from the doors to the pool was a very quick one! Once in, it was lovely and warm and I swear I could physically feel my muscles relax and give a little sigh of relief. Now, this is the perfect way end my holiday.
